Promoting Political Participation of Citizens in the Area of Khok Si Subdistrict, Mueang District, Khon Kaen Province

Abstract

The objectives of this research were: 1) to study the level of promoting political participation of citizens in the area of Khok Si Subdistrict, Mueang District, Khon Kaen Province; 2) to compare the promotion of public participation in the area of Khok Si Subdistrict, Mueang District, Khon Kaen Province, classified according to personal factors; 3) to study guidelines for promoting political participation of people in the area of Khok Si Subdistrict, Mueang District, Khon Kaen Province by applying the Four Brahmavihara principles. The sample group consisted of 379 people and 15 key informants. The tools used to collect data were questionnaires and interviews. Then the data was analyzed using a social science package and contextual content analysis.
The research results were as follows:
1) The level of promoting political participation of people in the Khok Si Subdistrict, Mueang District, Khon Kaen Province, overall and each aspect, was at a high level ( = 3.34).
2) The results of the comparison found that people with different genders, ages, occupations, and application of the Four Brahmavihara principles had a significant difference in promoting political participation of people in the Khok Si Subdistrict area as a whole with a statistically significant level of 0.05.
3) Guidelines for promoting political participation found that relevant agencies should encourage people to participate in politics and let them know their rights and responsibilities by allowing people to apply the Four Brahmavihara principles in
promoting public participation in politics.
