A Study of the Buddhist Morals in Pu-Ta Worship Ritual of Thippasot Village, Donklang Sub-District, Kosumphisai District, Mahasarakham Province

Abstract
The aims of this study were: 1) to study the belief of Pu-Ta worship ritual of Thippasot Village, DonklangSub-District, Kosumphisai District, Mahasarakham province; 2) to study the Buddhist morals appeared in such ritual. This study was a qualitative research through the data collection conducted by the fieldwork interview and in-depth interview to study the ritual’s rationale, belief and religious morals.
The research results were that 1) in overall, the ritual is organized to ask for forgiveness from the city governors and blessing from Pu-ta (grandfather) to heal illnesses, to create richness, raining in the region, decease prevention and good result farming through scarifying; 2) the Buddhist morals appeared in this ritual were: Five Precepts, Law of Kamma, Gratitude, Six Directions and Faith.
