THE IMPROVEMENT PROCESSES OF THAI READING ABILITY OF PRATHOM 6 STUDENTS AT SRIKWANMUENG SCHOOL, BANDUNG DISTRICT, UDONTHANI PROVINCE

Abstract

              This research is  aimed to 1) study the improvement processes of Thai reading ability of Prathom 6 students at Srikwanmueng School, Bandung District, Udonthani Province, and to 2) study the attitudes of Prathom 6 students towards the improvement processes of Thai reading ability. The target group of this research was selected using the purposive sampling method, consisting of 1 Thai language teacher of Prathom 6 and 20 Prathom 6 students. The instruments used in this study were the observation form, the unstructured interview, the attitude test for students, recording cameras, and video recorders. The data were collected by recording videos of teaching and learning activities and learning behaviors of students in the classroom, as well as interviewing teachers and students and providing the attitude test for students. The researcher analyzed data using the mixed method where the data was analyzed using analytic description and quantitative methods of data collection. The researcher analyzed the data using descriptive statistics.

               The research results showed that 1. the improvement processes of Thai reading ability of Prathom 6 students at Srikwanmueng School, Bandung District, Udonthani Province, had 4 processes including 1) the teacher preparing learning management 2) providing learning activities 3) Evaluating the learning 4) The promotion of learning 2. Prathom 6 students had the positive attitudes of towards the improvement processes of Thai reading ability the mean () was 3.95 and the standard deviation (S.D.) was 0.05
