THE STUDY OF MERIT - MAKING OF TALE IN DHAMMAPADATHAKATHA

Abstract
The examination of research was based on A Study of Merit - Making of Tale in Dhammapadathakathã. There were 2 purposes as the following: (1) to examine merit fundamentals in Buddhism, (2) to examine the merit-making demeanor of the character of Dhammapadathakathã, This examination consisted of subjective evidence of research, by considering the data from the evidence; as well as interpreting the fulfillment. In accordance with the research objectives, it had utilized content analysis techniques based on the connotation of the words in the content; of which correlates to the problem of exploration as a unit of analysis. The outcomes could be summarized as the following:
Merit making in Buddhism, or the locale of the merit, in brief, there are 3 things: 1. Dānamaya: merit gained by giving, 2. Sīlamaya: by engaging in moral demeanor, and 3. Bhāvanāmaya: by mental advancement of the character of Dhammapadathakathã. Thus, doing good things for others is in accordance with the principles of life of people every day. Furthermore, it could be elucidated by the principles of science; with the social framework of the characters that come into sight throughout the story. As a result, this leads to comprehension about the standpoint of Buddhist merit making that is more scientific than delusion in accordance with the story.
