Abstract

The aims of this research were: 1) to study the socialist philosophy;
2) to study the philosophy of Kayson Phomviharn; 3) to analyze the socialist philosophy of Kayson Phomviharn during the period 1975-1990. This study was the qualitative research and its tools including an in-depth interview form and an observation form. The key informants were 4 historians, 4 politicians and 5 academicians (total 13). The obtained data were presented by the descriptive analysis and the research results were as follows:


            Socialist philosophy is a theory of politics and governance by having a policy for the state to participate in ownership of production factors and plan to control the economic mechanism which the government plays an important role in allocating and sharing production results with society and also providing fairly necessary welfare services to the public. Every action is based on the majority of social benefits and emphasize the unity, reconciliation and mutual welfare of the group.


            Life philosophy of Kayson Phomviharn which is his concept, principles and ways of life includes political contributions, foreign works, the titles and medals, contributions to theoretical textbooks (selected thesis), philosophy of life, party building and independence fighting strategies.


            KaysonPhomviharn’s socialist philosophy during the period 1775-1990 includes equality, brotherhood, religious freedom, change of the natural economy to the basic product economy and education.
