Abstract
The aims of this research were: to study and compare academic administration in basic education institutions to excellence, under the Office of Secondary Educational Service Areas 25, classified by samples’ position, education level and work experience; to propose guidelines for the development of academic administration in educational institutions to excellence under the Office of Secondary Education Service Area 25, This study was conducted by using research methods.
The research results were as follows:
1) The academic administration in basic education institutions to excellence, in general, had a high level of practice. Classified in each aspect, it was found that the aspect that had the highest practice was the evaluation and assessment, followed by the development of the teaching and learning process and teaching supervision respectively; all aspects were rated at the highest level of practice. The lowest level of practice was seen in strengthening cooperation with relevant parties rated at a high level of practice.
2) The comparison of academic administration in basic education institutions to excellence classified by the samples’ position and by educational background found that the overall opinions were not different. Classified by work experience, in general, there were differences of opinions with statistical significance at the level of .05.
3) The guidelines for academic administration in basic education institutions to excellence are: 1) curriculum improvement by using the PDCA quality management cycle; 2) student-center should be focused and students act on their own through the active leaning teaching process; 3) there should be actual measurements and evaluations to be consistent with the indicators in the curriculum; develop the results of the teaching process to higher learning achievement; 4) there should be a meeting of the teaching supervision; then use the obtained information to analyze and develop the teaching process to be more efficient.
