Abstract

This survey research aimed to 1) examine the transformational leadership (TS) of school administrators under the Pathum Thani Secondary Education Service Area Office (OSEPT), and 2) compare the transformational leadership of these administrators based on variables such as education level, work experience, academic rank, and school size. The sample consisted of 322 teachers working in schools under the OSEPT during the 2023 academic year. The sample size was determined using Cohen's table, with multi-stage random sampling employed to select the participants. A questionnaire, designed on a five-point Likert scale with a reliability coefficient of 0.980, was used to gauge teachers’ perspectives on the transformational leadership of their administrators. Statistical analyses included mean, standard deviation, t-test, F-test, one-way ANOVA, and Scheffe’s multiple comparison method for pairwise comparisons. The findings revealed that 1) the transformational leadership of school administrators, as perceived by the teachers, was high across all aspects, with problem-solving rated the highest, followed by teamwork, and communication rated the lowest. Additionally, 2) teachers’ perceptions of transformational leadership did not vary significantly by education level or school size. However, differences in work experience and academic rank among teachers were associated with statistically significant variations in their perceptions of administrators' transformational leadership, at a significance level of 0.05.
