Knowledge Management in Product Transforming Water Hyacinth into Black Soil of Community Enterprise in Bang Pla Sub-district, Bang Phli District, Samutprakarn Province

Abstract

The objectives of this research were 1) to study the level of knowledge and experience in knowledge management of people, farmers, and community enterprises; 2) to study the factors affecting the success of the knowledge management of water hyacinth transformation into black soil fertilizer of community enterprises; and 3) to study the management process of water hyacinth transformation into black soil fertilizer of community enterprises in Bang Pla Sub-district, Bang Phli district, Samut Prakan province. This research employed mixed-methods approaches. The sample of the study was 451 respondents in total composed of 436 respondents from people, farmers, and community enterprises groups and 15 key informants in the Bangpla sub-district, Bangphli district, Samutprakarn province. The instruments used were a questionnaire and a semi-structured interview. The statistics used in the data analysis were descriptive – frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation - and inferential statistics to test the hypothesis with t-test and one-way ANOVA. - The results of the study were as follows: 1) the knowledge level of knowledge management of people, farmers, and community enterprises in Bang Pla subdistrict, Bang Phli district, Samut Prakan province in overall average score was at moderate; 2) factors affecting the success of knowledge management of community enterprises in Bang Pla Sub-district, Bang Phli District, Samut Prakan Province have consisted of people, process, leadership, and information technology. The overall average scores were at a moderate level except for the leadership found at a high level; and 3) the knowledge management process of water hyacinth transformation into black soil fertilizer of community enterprises starts from knowledge identification, knowledge acquisition, knowledge creation, knowledge sharing, knowledge storage, knowledge transfer; and knowledge utilization.
