This research aimed to study and analyze the language used in the sixty-seven news headlines on online newspapers. The analysis of the data was based on the framework of linguistic strategies of Jantima Angkapanichkit (2018), considering words and meaning form internal context. Frequency and percentage of language forms found in the text were used to analyze the data. It was found that there were two types of the language of news headlines on online newspapers: 1) Lexical strategies and 2) Syntactic strategies. The lexical strategies consisted of 4 aspects: 1) name calling 2) the treatment of the victims 3) the condition of the victims and 4) the condition of the rescuers. The language forms referring to “name calling” were found the most. The syntactic strategies consisted of 3 aspects: 1) contraction 2) subject omission 3) conjunction omission.
