A Development of Teaching Practicum Management System in the New Normal Model

Abstract

The objectives of this study were to: 1) identify the problems and needs for a teaching practicum management platform in the New Normal; 2) develop a teaching practicum management platform in the New Normal; 3) evaluate the efficiency of the teaching practicum management platform in the New Normal; and 4) assess users’ satisfaction using the teaching practicum management platform. The platform was evaluated by five specialists. As for users’ satisfaction, pre-service teachers and those involved in the teaching practicum program (n = 213), who were simple random sampling by purposive sampling method and systematic sampling. The research instruments included a system efficiency evaluation form and satisfaction questionnaire.

The results were as follows:

1) The problems identified included: the original platform’s working process, which relied heavily on documents; issues with managing various related information systems, causing the platform to run slowly; wasteful resource use; and lost and difficult data searching. As a result, the platform’s requirements included the ability to manage it more systematically, as well as the ability to file, present information, and report results more efficiently;

2) The system consists of 5 sections as follows: register, school search for a teaching practicum, request a teaching practicum approval, print a teaching practicum form and check status;

3) The efficiency evaluation of the teaching practicum management platform Opinion was at the highest level

4) The results of the complacency evaluation of the teaching practicum management platform was at a high level.
