Development of English Writing Skills by Using an English Writing Activity Package through Applications for Vocational Certificate Students

Abstract

 The purposes of this research were to 1) develop an English writing activity package through applications for vocational certificate students with an efficiency criterion of 75/75; 2) compare English writing skills of vocational certificate students before and after using the English writing activity package through applications; and 3) study the willingness to write English of vocational certificate students. The samples were 23 second-year vocational certificate students from Pongsawadi Technological College, studying in the second semester of the academic year 2022. A cluster sampling method was used. The research instruments included the English writing activity package through applications, lesson plans using the English writing activity package through applications, the English writing test, and the assessment of willingness to write English. The data were analyzed using mean scores, standard deviations, and t-test.

The results showed that

1) the English writing activity package through applications had an efficiency index of 75.55/77.72, passing the specified criteria of 75/75,

2) the English writing skills of vocational certificate students after learning with an English writing activity package through applications were higher than before learning at a statistical significance level of .05,

3)  the willingness to write English of vocational certificate students was at a high level.
