THE DEVELOPMENT OF TEACHER COMPETENCIES IN DEVELOPING INTEGRATED LOCAL WISDOM CURRICULUM

Abstract

This research aims to 1) develop the ability for creating an integrated local curriculum 2) study the opinion of the benefits of an integrated local curriculum where the target group study consists of pre-service teachers of Faculty of Education, Pibulsongkram Rajabhat University and the in-service teachers from Watboat School, Khongtrakae School and Watprakrak School, Kong Krailat District, Sukhothai in the amount of 37 peoples.

 The research instruments consisted of a test with difficulty between 0.48 - 0.76, discrimination is between 0.39 - 0.76 and has a validity of 0.85. Due to the questionnaire section, the reliability by the Cronbach's alpha coefficient method was 0.92.  The statistics used for data analysis were frequency, percentage, mean (M) standard deviation (S) and content analysis.  The results of the research were as follows: 1) the competency of the pre-service teachers and the in-service teachers concerning with the local  curriculum have a higher post-development score than before and the guidelines for bringing local wisdom to integrate into the subject group are as follows:  Watprakrak School concerning with bamboo fan weaving,  Khongtrakae School concerning with basket weaving and  Watboat School concerning with chaloam weaving.  2) the opinions of pre-service teachers and the in-service teachers had the opinions about the benefits of local curriculum in overall was at a high level.
