A Synthesis of Elements and Guidelines for Teacher’s Leadership Development in Educational Era 4.0

Abstract

The objectives of this research were to: 1) synthesize and verify elements for teachers’ leadership in educational era 4.0, and 2) prepare and examine guidelines for teachers’ leadership development in educational era 4.0.  The study was divided into 2 steps as follows: 1) the synthesis and verification elements for teachers’ leadership in educational era 4.0, and 2) the preparation and examination guidelines for teachers’ leadership development in educational era 4.0.  Data resources and expert resources consisted of 1) researches and academic articles related to elements for teachers’ leadership development in educational era 4.0, 2) a total of 17 experts were selected through purposive sampling.  Instruments used were as follows: 1) a note taking record of synthesizing of elements for teachers’ leadership in educational era 4.0, 2) a consistency verification form of elements for teachers’ leadership in educational era 4.0 with definitions, 3) an interview form, and 4) a draft examination form of guidelines.  Data were analyzed by using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, index of Item Objective Congruence (IOC), and content analysis.

            The results of the study revealed that teachers’ leadership in educational era 4.0 consisted of 5 elements: 1) characteristics of teacher leadership 4.0, 2)teamwork and professional learning community, 3) learning management by integrate in teaching and a new model teaching, 4) ability to use information technology and creating innovation, and 5) academic leadership.  As regards the results were verified by experts, all elements had index of Item Objective Congruence (IOC) between 0.8 - 1.0 The guidelines for teachers’ leadership development in educational era 4.0 consisted of 1) principles / concepts; 2) objectives; 3) development methods 4) conditions of success.  Regarding the examination results of guidelines, all elements were appropriate and feasible at the highest level.
