Development Ability and Attribute of Listening and Speaking English by Using the Learning Activity Package Based on Natural Approach for Grade 4 Students of Chiang Mai Primary Educational Service Area Office 2

Abstract
The purposes of this research were to: 1) create and determine the effectiveness of the Learning English Activity Package based on the Natural Approach, 2) assess English listening and speaking ability of grade 4 students in Chiang Mai Primary Educational Service Area Office 2 before and after using the Learning English Activity Package based on the Natural Approach, 3) examine the attributes of English listening and speaking of grade 4 students after using the Learning English Activity Package based on the Natural Approach. The sample consisted of 23 grade 4 students from a single classroom in Chiang Mai Primary Educational Service Area Office 2, selected using a cluster sampling method during the first semester of the academic year 2002. The research instruments included: 1) The Learning English Activity Package based on the Natural Approach, 2) an English listening and speaking ability test, and 3) an English listening and speaking attribute test. The statistics used to analyze data were mean, standard deviation, coefficient of variation, mode and a paired t-test to determine significant differences in means.
The findings were as follows: 1) The Learning English Activity Package based on the Natural Approach has the process efficiency (E1) and the resultant efficiency (E2) were 91.90/90.21, which were higher than the specified criteria at 80/80. 2) The students' average post-learning scores in listening and speaking ability were differently higher than the pre-learning average scores at a statistically significant level of .01. 3) The students has the level of English listening and speaking attribute at the highest level of quality.
