Abstract

This research aims to explore teachers’ content knowledge for teaching geometry grade 7 in classroom using lesson study and open approach. With qualitative of case study research methods, the plan is a research tool, presented data analysis by descriptive analysis, the case studies in this research is student teaching in secondary schools, Data were protocol analysis within Domains of mathematical knowledge for teaching by Ball et al. (2008) and the concept of Lesson Study and Open Approach by Inprasitha (2010). The results showed that classroom using lesson study and open approach 1) Case study have common content knowledge is able to tell the meaning of a line segment angle and perpendicular. In addition to case study describes about straightedge and to explain how to use a compass correctly, the straightedge and compass is the main tool used in learning the subject basic of construction.
