Abstract

The purposes of this research were 1) to examine the current conditions and problems of effective teamwork in secondary schools under the Secondary Educational Service Area Office (SESAO) 21, 2) to establish the guidelines for developing effective teamwork for secondary schools, 3) to evaluate the guidelines for developing effective teamwork. The research was divided into three phases: Phase I was related to examining current conditions and problems of effective teamwork in secondary schools under the SESAO 21. The sample consisted of 332 teachers, which was determined by sample size using stratified random sampling. The research tool was a set of questionnaires with the reliability of 0.97 for current condition part, and 0.98 for problem part. Phase II concerned the establishment of the guidelines for developing effective teamwork in secondary schools under the SESAO 21 through brainstorming among 15 teachers.


The results were as follows:


 


  1. Current conditions and problems of effective teamwork in secondary schools under the SESAO 21, were at a high level in overall and individual aspect.

  2. The guidelines for developing effective teamwork in secondary schools under the SESAO 21 covered nine aspects.

  3. The guidelines validation revealed that the mean scores achieved 1.0 at the level of agreement in all aspects. This would be because school administrators and teachers demonstrated their understanding well in terms of current conditions and problems in secondary schools.
