Technology Satisfaction and Technology-Use Innovation as Mediating Variables in the Relationship between the Social Environment and Technology Usage among Students in a Convent School, Bangkok.

This study aimed to 1) examine the levels of social environment, technology-use innovation, technology satisfaction, and technology usage, and 2) analyze the mediating effects of technology satisfaction and technology-use innovation in the relationship between the social environment and technology usage. A quantitative research design was employed using a questionnaire as the research instrument. Data were collected from 500 female students in a convent school in Bangkok. The data were analyzed using mean, standard deviation, and structural equation modeling (SEM).
The results indicated that
1) social environment ( =4.04), technology-use innovation ( =4.07), technology satisfaction ( =4.09), and technology usage ( =4.06) were all at high levels.
2) The structural model demonstrated a good fit with the empirical data (χ²/df=1.546, CFI=0.991, SRMR=0.022, RMSEA=0.033). Importantly, the findings revealed that the social environment had no significant direct effect on technology usage and technology satisfaction. However, it exerted significant indirect effects through technology-use innovation and technology satisfaction. Technology-use innovation significantly influenced technology satisfaction, while technology satisfaction significantly influenced technology usage. These findings highlight that improving the social environment alone is insufficient; effective technology usage requires mediation through innovation in technology use and positive user experiences.
