Development of Learning Achievement through Teaching and Learning Online by Using a Brainstorming Technique on an Engineering Design Process for the Seventh Grade Students

Abstract

The objectives of this research were 1) to develop learning and teaching online by using a brainstorming technique on an engineering design process for the seventh grade students and 2) to study the learning achievement of the students through teaching and learning online by using a brainstorming technique on an engineering design process for the seventh grade students.  The samples were 160 students studying in the seventh grade from opportunity expansion schools under Uthai Thani Primary Educational Service Area Office 1. They were selected by purposive sampling. The research instruments were an evaluation form for evaluating the quality of the online learning and teaching websites and a test for evaluating learning achievement. The statistics were mean, standard deviation, and t-test dependent.

The research findings were as follows.

1. The findings of the evaluation showed that the quality of the websites by using a brainstorming technique on an engineering design process for the seventh grade students in the overall was at a good level (x̅ = 3.90).
2. The findings of the learning achievement test showed that the mean score before learning was 10.16, and the mean score after learning was 15.78. When the mean scores of the t-test dependent before and after learning were compared, the mean score after learning was higher than that before learning with the statistical significance at the level of .05.
