Abstract

This research aimed to study the opinions on the states and problems on using the student data and information program of the schools under the Secondary Education Service Area Office 29 and to compare the opinion of the teachers and the educational personnel as classified by positions and school sizes. The samples used in the research were 67 schools derived by a stratified random sampling. The research instrument was a five-rating scale questionnaire with a total confidence value equivalent to .97. Statistics used in data analysis were percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test and F-test. The research findings were as follows. 1. The school used student data and information program in high level. When considered in each aspect, the opinion about state of use student data and information program in the school was in high level 3 steps and was in medium level 3 steps. The school also had the overall problems in using student data and information program in high level. When considered in each aspect, the opinion about problems in using student data and information program was in high level. 2. The overall opinion of school administrators and teachers revealed that using student data and information program classified by position was not different. 3. The overall opinion of school administrators and teachers revealed that problem in using student data and information program was statistically significant different at .05 level. 4. The overall opinion of school administrators and teachers revealed that state of using student data and information program was statistically significant different at .05 level. 5. The overall school administrators and teachers were statistically significant different at .05 level. 6. School administrators and teachers suggested that 1) the student data and information program had several modules therefore they should be integrated all together for efficiently linkage of data, 2) expertise staff should be assigned to handle this program, 3) the program should be continually supervised, 4) more time should be allocated to complete the information and, 5) the network should be added for more systematic networking.
