The Documentary Research to Synthesize Components of The Quality of Life of People with Disabilities in International, People with Disabilities and Occupational Contexts

The objective of this research was to study and synthesize components of the quality of life people with disabilities by using the documentary research technique (Scott, 1990; 2006) in studying related literatures consists of 13 Thai literatures and 15 foreign literatures. The results found that the quality of life of people with disabilities had 3 dimensions and each dimension composed of the following key components: 1) the quality of life of people with disabilities in international context included 4 components; physical health, psychological, social relationships and environment 2) the quality of life of people with disabilities in specific context for people with disabilities included 9 components; personal characteristics, quality of care, perception of the rights, access to the rights, participation, social support, assistive device and assistive technology, education and self-improvement, occupation and income 3) the quality of life of people with disabilities in occupational context included 4 components; work setting, environmental support, self-efficacy, work conditions and outcomes. The results of this documentary research can use as a framework for empirical study to prove the components of the quality of life of people with disabilities and relationship between each component. Moreover, the results can use as important information in developing policy to improve quality of life for people with disabilities in the future.
