Lesson Learned from the Flood Victims In Temporary Ban Nakae Muangnong Tukluk School Shelter

Abstract

This research aimed 1) to study the problems of flood victims who request to stay at temporary Ban Nakae Muangnong Tukluk School shelter and 2) to achieve the lesson learnt from the factors affecting temporary shelter management effectively. This was qualitative study and collecting data by in-depth interview and focus group discussion with twenty-five participants which consist of the representative of villagers, residents in temporary Ban Nakae Muangnong Tukluk School shelter, government, and local administrative organization. Then, it was analyzed in terms of content analysis and triangulation.

The study found that the problem of flood victims in temporary shelter was management. 1) The lack of management preparation, 2) health care, and 3) waste management were the problems of management. In addition, the factors affecting temporary shelter management effectively were factors affecting the operation namely internal and external factors of temporary shelter that promoting and supporting the effective administration of Ban Nakae Muangnong Tukluk School shelter.
