Abstract

The purposes of this research were to (1) study the problems and the needs of participation of the Sufficiency Economy Learning Center, Banjadeekho Community, and (2) develop, trial, and evaluate the operation project of the Sufficiency Economy Learning Center, Banjadeekho Community. This research was participatory action research. The samples were 291 people who lived in the Banjadeekho Community. The informants consisted of 21 leaders and community representatives. The research tools included interview forms, questionnaires, meetings, and project evaluation forms. Data collection was conducted through in-depth interviews and Appreciation Influence Control (AIC). The data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and content analysis. The results were as follows:


              (1) In general, the problem of participation in the sufficiency economy learning center, Banjadeekho Community, was at a high level. The highest mean was the participation in the evaluation. The need for participation in the Sufficiency Economy Learning Center was at a high level. The highest mean was the participation in the operation. (2) The development, trial use of the project, and operation of the participation of the Sufficiency Economy Learning Center were initiated through the participation of community leaders and representatives who wanted the project of making bio-extract to enable participants to apply their knowledge about making bio-fermented water to their daily lives. (3) The project performance evaluation results revealed that participants had the highest level of knowledge in making bio-extract. Follow-up after the training revealed that participants applied the knowledge gained to address the problem of chemical use in agriculture, resulting in reduced chemical residues in water sources and livestock, and also reduced the cost of purchasing chemicals.
