4 DEVELOPMENT OF INFORMATION SYSTEM TO SUPPORT TEACHER PRACTICUM AT UBON RATCHATHANI RAJABHAT UNIVERSITY

Abstract

         


This research aimed to: 1) study the current conditions and the needs for developing an information system to support teaching practicum, 2) develop the information system to support teaching practicum, 3) evaluate the performance efficiency of the developed system by experts, and 4) assess user satisfaction with the system. The samples consisted of 120 participants, including student teachers, mentor teachers, advisors, and practicum staff, selected through stratified random sampling. The research tools comprised: 1) a questionnaire on current and desired conditions using a dual-response format and the Priority Need Index (PNI Modified), 2) a system performance evaluation form using a five-point Likert scale, and 3) a satisfaction evaluation form using a five-point rating scale. The statistics used in data analysis were the mean and standard deviation.


The results revealed that: 1) the current conditions were at a high level, while the desired conditions were at the highest level. The most significant priority need was the information search and retrieval module, with a PNI Modified value of 0.0638. 2) The developed information system consisted of five modules: student module, mentor teacher module, supervising lecturer module, practicum staff module, and administrator module. 3) The evaluation of the system’s performance efficiency was at the highest level. 4) User satisfaction with the system, overall, was also at the highest level.
