Abstract

This research aimed to: 1) compare the learning achievement in Science and Technology on the topic of materials and substances among Grade 4 students before and after implementing taught project-based learning and group investigation, 2) examine the creative innovation ability of Grade 4 students after learning through project-based learning and group investigation and 3) assess students’ opinions toward this teaching approach. The sample consisted of 27 students from Grade 4/1 from Anubannongsaeng School, Semester 1, Academic Year 2024. The research instruments included: 1) a project-based learning and group investigation plan on Materials and Substances, 2) a Science and Technology achievement test, 3) an innovative creativity assessment, and 4) a student opinion questionnaire. Data were analyzed using mean (M), standard deviation (SD), and dependent t-test. The research findings showed that: 1) post-learning achievement was significantly higher than pre-learning achievement at the .05 level, 2) the students' innovative creativity was rated at a good level, and 3) students' opinions toward the learning approach were at a high level.
