DEVELOPMENT OF A PROGRAM TO PROMOTE DEMOCRATIC CITIZENSHIP CHARACTERISTICS OF SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS BASED ON THE CONCEPT OF CHALLENGE BASED LEARNING

Abstract
The purposes of this research were to 1) develop a program to promote democratic citizenship characteristics of secondary school students based on the concept of Challenge Based Learning 2) compare the democratic citizenship characteristics of secondary school students before and after the usage of Challenge Based Learning Program. The sample of this research consisted of 25 students, in the second semester of the academic year 2023 in Prommanusorn Phetchaburi School, Phetchaburi Province by volunteer selection. The research instrument used for data collection was the democratic citizenship characteristics of secondary school student test that was developed by Atchara Ayutthasirikul (2018). There are 4 level rating scale with 76 items. The tool used in the experiment was a program to promote democratic citizenship characteristics of secondary school students based on the concept of challenge-based learning. The Data were analyzed by arithmetic mean (M). Standard Deviation (S.D.) and t-test dependent.
The research findings were summarized as follows.
- The program promotes democratic citizenship characteristics of secondary school students based on the concept of Challenge Based Learning. The components of the program are 1) Basic concepts 2) Principles 3) Characteristics 4) Qualifications 5) Contents 6) Learning activities 7) Learning media. and 8) measurement and evaluation. through gathering activities It was found to be appropriate and feasible at the highest level.
- Characteristics of democratic citizenship of secondary school students after receiving activities with a program to promote democratic citizenship of secondary school students based on the concept of Challenge Based Learning after using program was higher than before using the program with statistical at .05 level of significance.
