Abstract
The research “A Comparison Study of Learning Achievement in Topic: Complex Numbers in Mathematics for Physics Teachers I by Active Learning with Jigsaw technique” aimed to (1) study the effectiveness index (E.I.) of study in topic: complex numbers in mathematics for physics teachers I by active learning method with Jigsaw technique, (2) compare the students’ learning achievements before and after learning by active learning method, and (3) evaluate the students’ satisfactions toward learning by active learning method with Jigsaw technique. The target group of this research was 22 students who enrolled in mathematics for physics teachers I, first semester of the academic year 2018, Silpakorn University.
The results of this research were: (1) the effectiveness index (E.I.) of study by using active learning method with Jigsaw technique was 0.8399, (2) the posttest scores of students were higher than the pretest scores at the level of significance .01, and (3) the overall students’ satisfactions toward learning by active learning method with Jigsaw technique in content aspect was at 4.79 which is at highest level (S.D. = 0.41), furthermore, the overall students’ satisfactions in learning by active learning method with Jigsaw aspect was at 4.93 which is at highest level (S.D. = 0.25).
