The Effect of Reflective Teaching on Critical Thinking Ability and Humanize Nursing Care of Nursing Students

Abstract
The objective of the quasi-experimental research was to study the effect of reflective teaching on critical thinking ability and humanized nursing care of nursing students.The population included 108 nursing students. All of population were the samples that divided into experimental and control groups by using matching method based on GPA. The reflective teaching was applied to experimental group using reflective questions.The control group focused on content for practicum. The critical thinking ability and the humanized nursing care instruments were self-constructed and content validated by a panel of 3 experts.The reliability was 0.91 using Cronbach’s alpha. The independent t-test and paired t-test were used for data analysis.
The results revealed that the critical thinking ability score of the experimental group was significantly higher than the score of control group at the .05 level. The mean score of the humanized nursing care in the experimental group significantly increased after reflective teaching was applied at the .05 level. Based on the result, reflective teaching should be recommended to improve critical thinking ability and humanized nursing care in nursing students.
