Suggesting Second-Language Reading Model for EFL University Students’ Reading Comprehension

Abstract

The academic article aims to fill up the gap found of the inherent second-language (L2) or English reading development in Thai EFL (English as a foreign language) tertiary context. Some of the research studies were reviewed based on the statement of problems, research methodologies, findings, and conclusions to support evidences. The main contribution of this academic article seeks to suggest the discrete L2 reading model based on the theories of the compensatory model of L2 reading, ACTIVE Framework, and Survey of Reading Strategies (SORS).  Lastly, this academic article suggests conducting a pilot study by using the suggesting reading model.
