Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a TH SarabunPSK 14-point font or Times New Roman 10-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Manuscript Preparation Guidelines

 

FOYER: The Journal of Humanities, Social Sciences, and Education, accepts manuscripts for publication of research articles, academic articles, and review articles.  Articles to be submitted to the journal must neither be under the review of any other journals nor be previously published.  Copyright infringement is the responsibility of the authors.

Following is the schedule for the publication:

Issue 1  January – June

Issue 2  July – December

The manuscript must include the following components:

  1. Title: An article title must be supplied both in Thai and in English languages using precise words relevant to objectives of the articles. 
  2. Author Name(s): Only name and sur names are required.  If the authors are Thai, Thai and English languages are required.
  3. Institutional Affiliation: Author(s)’ full contact details including their institutional affiliations, department(s), postal address (city, province, and postal code), telephone numbers, and email address must be supplied.
  4. Abstract and Key Words: A structured abstract of a maximum of 250 words both in Thai and English languages are required.  The Thai and English versions of the abstract must accurately reflect the same content of each other.  The abstract of a research article must include a summary of the study with objectives, research methodology, and findings.  Under the abstract, in the Keyword section, a list of no more than 5 keywords is needed.
  5. Details of the Text

5.1  Academic Articles and Review articles 

Topics and content must specify the issues to be presented clearly with appropriate sequences of content and text organization to facilitate readers’ understanding of the article.  The analysis of the details and the issues highlighted must adequately and completely be supported by theories.

5.2  Research papers 

The research process and findings must be presented according to the research methodology employed. The research papers must have the following components:

5.2.1 Introduction: This section must cover background, rationale and significance of the study, and the review of previous literature.

5.2.2 Research methodology: Context of the study, population and participant recruitment process, research tools, data collection procedures, as well as data analysis procedures must be clearly explained.

5.2.3 Results of the study:  Major findings must be clearly described and elaborated either in linear or non-linear forms or both.   

5.2.4  Discussion:  Results must be discussed to show how they are linked to the results of previous studies, and analyzed whether it corresponds or is different from the results reported previously. The analysis and discussion requires reliable resources and references.

  1. Conclusion: A summary and conclusion of the research must be made.
  2. Acknowledgments: This may or may not be included in the papers.
  3. References: The Journal of Liberal Arts adheres to the APA Style 7th Edition for in-text citations, and reference list. To comply with the standard specified by ASEAN, the ACI or ASEAN Citation Index is used.  Therefore, the references of resources in Thai language must be translated into English and, followed beside each of it with the phrase “(in Thai)” in parentheses.  In the reference list, each translated version will be followed by each of its original reference in Thai language.

The translated version will be later organized under the section “Translated Thai References” by staff of the journal.  This will be done for the first volume and the first issue of January to May 2019.

  1. Reproduction and Modification of Others’ Work: For the reproduction and modification of any others’ work such as illustrations, tables, figures or lengthy quotations previously published elsewhere, the authors are responsible for obtaining permission from copyright holders, and for giving credits for their original ideas.

All articles and research papers are blindly peer reviewed from reviewers both within and outside Mahidol University.  

All the articles published in this journal is a personal copyright, which does not affect the editorial board.

Publication fees are not charged.
