Abstract

The objective of this article is to create artistic works of public art by integrating the disciplines of art, music, and performing art to drive artistic endeavors for the community. This is achieved through a mixed-methods research approach that combines creative research and research and development (R&D), incorporating the concepts of public art and collaborative creativity. The emphasis is on inclusive processes involving artists from various disciplines, community engagement, and addressing societal challenges in the post-COVID-19 pandemic context.

The article presents the creative design process of the "Kalpapruek: Wishing Tree" series, which applies the myth of the Kalpapruek tree in Thai society as a concept for artistic creation. The research findings indicate that the creation of artistic works based on the principles of public art serves as a pathway for promoting and developing communities, providing opportunities for artists from diverse disciplines to participate in the production of art for public benefit. Additionally, it involves presenting new approaches to the community and engaging in interdisciplinary collaboration.

The integration of various disciplines in this creative endeavor generates artistic works that are comprehensive in their components, effectively communicating with and reaching audiences. Moreover, the collaboration with the community, particularly involving students in the area, serves to promote and inspire, as well as enhance awareness and cultivate a positive mindset in community-based artistic endeavors.
