COMMUNITY CULTURAL DEVELOPMENT FOR TOURISM PROMOTION: A CASE STUDY OF COSTUME DESIGN FOR 2017 SDOKKOK THOM TEMPLE LIGHT AND SOUND PERFORMANCE, SAKAEO PROVINCE

Abstract

           The study on community cultural capital development for tourism promotion: a case study of
costume design for 2017 SdokKok Thom Temple Light and Sound Performance, SaKaeo Province was
conducted with the purpose to design costumes for the performance by applying the principle of cultural capital development to the design.                                                                                                                                                    This research was an interdisciplinary research which integrated the science of costume design
for performances and cultural capital management for use in SdokKok Thom Temple Light and Sound
Performance, SaKaeo Province which is one of the important tourism activities in SaKaeo Province
The results of the study could be divided into 2 parts, namely, part 1: the cultural capital development in SaKaeo Province for costume design in “Khuen Fun Santi Loka Bucha MakhaPuranami” light and sound performance at SdokKok Thom Temple, SaKaeo Province, which consisted of the process of capital management in three aspects of culture, namely, historical, invention and human capitals and part 2, the design of costumes for SdokKok Thom Temple Light and Sound Performance, SaKaeo Province, which related to characters in that period and roles of the main characters in 28 costumes which could be divided into 2 groups, namely, 1 the group of periodic costumes (21 costumes) and 2 the group of costumes from imagination (7 costumes).
