A LEARNING PACKAGE ON THAI CIVILIZATION TO IMPROVE THE THAI LANGUAGE SKILLS OF VIETNAMESE STUDENTS BASED ON THE SONGS HONORING HIS MAJESTY KING BHUMIBOL ADULYADEJ

Abstract

This research aimed to construct a learning package in which songs honoring His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej were applied as a medium to improve the Thai language skills of foreigners.  The researcher studied documents related to the songs and the construction of learning package, then created the research tools for appraisal.  The experimental learning package on Thai civilzation to improve  the Thai Language skills of Vietnamese Students based on the songs honoring His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej consisted of eight lessons that that students can learn freely independently and systematically.                                                                                         

 The learning package on Thai civilzation to improve the Thai language skills of Vietnamese students based on songs honoring His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej had a result of 91.58 average points, higher than the set criteria of 70 percentage. The improved score average was 13.97, above the set criteria of 7.5. The findings revealed that the learning package helped Vietnamese students to improve their Thai language skills along with comprehension of civilization that may benefit from further study ot the Thai Language, especially in the field of Thai studies
