         บทความนี้เป็นส่วนหนึ่งของวิทยานิพนธ์ “แบบแผนและกลวิธีการพากย์-เจรจาโขนของกรมศิลปากร” มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาวิเคราะห์แบบแผนและวิธีการพากย์-เจรจาโขน และกลวิธีในการพากย์-เจรจาโขนของกรมศิลปากรที่สืบทอดจากกรมมหรสพ ในสมัยรัชกาลที่ 6 บทความนี้เสนอ“หน้าที่ของคนพากย์-เจรจาโขน” อันประกอบด้วย การพากย์-เจรจาโขน การบอกเพลง หน้าพาทย์ บอกบทร้องที่ใช้ประกอบในการแสดง ควบคุมการแสดง และจัดทำบทโขน โดยพิเคราะห์จากเอกสาร วีดิทัศน์ การสัมภาษณ์ และประสบการณ์ตรงของผู้วิจัย หน้าที่ของคนพากย์-เจรจาโขน แสดงถึง “ปรีชาญาณ” และ “องค์ความรู้” ของคนพากย์-เจรจาโขนได้เป็นอย่างดี เป็นต้นว่า รอบรู้ในเรื่องรามเกียรติ์ ภาษาศาสตร์ คีตศิลป์ สังคีตศิลป์ มีสมาธิและปฏิภาณไหวพริบ ปรีชาญาณของผู้พากย์-เจรจาโขนที่เกิดขึ้นแสดงให้เห็นถึงความสัมพันธ์ระหว่าง คนพากย์กับ นักแสดง นักดนตรี ที่ต้องมีความเข้าใจซึ่งกันและกัน ประการสำคัญ คือ สร้างความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างผู้ชมกับ นักแสดงโดยผ่านการพากย์และการเจรจาที่มีชั้นเชิงทางด้านวาทศิลป์ ส่งผลให้ผู้ชมเกิดความสนุกสนาน นั่นคือความสำเร็จของการแสดงโขน ฉะนั้นแล้วอาจกล่าวได้ว่า คนพากย์-เจรจาโขน คือ บุคคลที่สำคัญที่อยู่เบื้องหลังในการแสดงโขนที่สร้างความสมบูรณ์ของนาฏกรรมโขนก็ว่าได้

Abstract

            This article is a part of the thesis: “THE STYLES AND TECHNIQUES OF THE DEPARTMENT OF FINE ARTS' KHON NARRATIVES AND DIALOGUES”. The main objective of the this research is to study the approaches of narratives and dialogues for The Thai royal mask play or Khon. It focus on the resources from the Department of Thai Royal Entertainment in the Reign of King Rama VI (King Vajiravudh) and the Thai Fine Arts Department. This research portrays “The roles of Khon’s narrator”. The narration consists of organizing instrumental music, specifying lyrics, orchestrating performance, and preparing acts. Findings are gathered from relevant documents, presentations, in-depth interview with Khon’s narrators, and direct experiences of researchers. Roles and responsibilities of Khon narrators represent their “intellectual ability” and “knowledge” in terms of Ramayana, Linguistics, vocal music, musical arts. Concentration and intelligence of narrator are required to create interdependent understanding among narrator, actors, and musicians. Key success is the ability of narrator to facilitate interaction through rhetoric and creative dialogues so as to create joyful experience. Narrator is the unsung hero of Khon performance success.
