An Analysis of costume designs for Thai Drama series: A case of “Prisana” from 1987-2015

บทคัดย่อ

The costume analysis on television play "Prisana" in 1987-2016, the objective is to study and analyze the costume designs and to study the development of the designers for the plays which were presented to publics. For the purpose that researchers have studied 3 versions of “Prisana play” which are; in year 1987, produced by I AM PRODUCTION CO.,Ltd., in year 2000, produced by TWO IN ONE CO,Ltd,. and in year 2015, produced by SRICOMERONG CO.,Ltd. The study was concerned on main character “Prisana”’s contumes, the play had 47 periods. The research result came out in the form of Thai costume design which has the improvement, there is the development from the design without principles, study in details, weak in design principle, all of these have been developed from time to time which could be caused by the flow of globalization and the expansion of education in entertainment industry. In year 2000, the development of costume design came out more in procedures, presented ideas as well as creation in aesthetics of the plays. the researcher found out that costumes of “Prisana” in each era could all associate of changing the thinking process in societies especially regarding on the refection toward female in each period of time which produce and effect on costume designs convey to the analysis on female interestingly.
