This article aims to demonstrate the way Vincent van Gogh’s paintings are presented in cartoon form. It focuses on a study of 2 series of paintings and 3 paintings by Van Gogh which are 1) The Potato Eaters series, 2) Vase with Sunflowers series, 3) The Starry Night, 4) Self-Portrait (September 1889) and 5) Wheatfield with Crows. These paintings are presented in 3 biography comic books which are 1) Vincent Van Gogh: An Artist’s Struggle, 2) Vincent Van Gogh: The Raven Hunt, and 3) Vincent. The study has shown that there are 3 forms regarding how his paintings are presented: presenting the paintings in scenes, presenting scenes, and presenting characters. These 3 forms can be recategorized as 4 methods: continuation, adaptation, reduction, and addition. These methods aforementioned can be used as a guide leading to productions of biography comic books about other artists or other books about any branches of art.
