Abstract

This research employs a mix-method research process. The research aims to (1) study Zennial women’s dressing styles for party-casual wear occasions, (2) explore the trompe-l’oeil art concept, and (3) design a womenswear fashion collection using the trompe-l’oeil art concept. Findings reveal that (1) Zennials prefer loose silhouettes with vivid colors, sleek materials, and textile pattern designs composed of pictures, (2) the trompe-l’oeil art concept emphasizes creating depth and illusions in two-dimensional pieces, often depicting mundane objects in complex compositions, and (3) the fashion collection’s design process incorporates the development of inspiration, trend analysis, and trompe-l’oeil art elements, using mundane objects for collage and layering. This process results in five distinctive fashion looks through digital print techniques. The research scope includes the study of Zennial women in the Bangkok urban area, and the study of the trompe-l’oeil art concept focuses on artists who use mundane objects as inspirations and art mediums.
