การใช้วารสารศาสตร์เชิงข้อมูลขององค์กรสื่อไม่แสวงหาผลกำไรในประเทศไทย

บทคัดย่อ
งานวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษา (1) การใช้วารสารศาสตร์เชิงข้อมูลขององค์กรสื่อไม่แสวงหาผลกำไรในประเทศไทย และ (2) บทบาทในการให้บริการสาธารณะขององค์กรสื่อไม่แสวงหาผลกำไรในประเทศไทยผ่านผลงานวารสารศาสตร์เชิงข้อมูล
ผู้วิจัยใช้วิธีการวิเคราะห์เนื้อหา (Content Analysis) ผลงานวารสารศาสตร์เชิงข้อมูลจากองค์กรสื่อไม่แสวงหาผลกำไร 3 แห่ง ได้แก่ ดิ แอคทีฟ เดอะ วิชวล และร็อกเกต มีเดีย แล็บ ในช่วงตั้งแต่ผลงานชิ้นแรกเผยแพร่ในวันที่ 28 กันยายน 2563 ถึงวันที่ 1 มีนาคม 2566 จำนวนทั้งสิ้น 105 ชิ้น โดยนำข้อมูลมาวิเคราะห์ทั้งในเชิงปริมาณและเชิงคุณภาพ
ผลการศึกษาพบว่า วารสารศาสตร์เชิงข้อมูลขององค์กรสื่อไม่แสวงหาผลกำไรในประเทศไทยทำหน้าที่ได้อย่างน่าสนใจ โดยเฉพาะการบริการสาธารณะผ่านบทบาทการสะท้อนปัญหาสังคม และส่งเสริมการมีส่วนร่วมของพลเมือง ทว่ายังขาดบทบาทด้านการเปิดโปงการทุจริต และยังมีช่องว่างในการพัฒนาอีกมาก โดยส่วนใหญ่ใช้ชุดข้อมูลขนาดเล็ก มีการผสมผสานข้อมูลและการวิเคราะห์เชิงลึกไม่มากนัก และยังไม่มีรูปแบบการนำเสนอที่หลากหลาย
จากผลการศึกษานี้จึงมีข้อเสนอแนะให้พัฒนาวารสารศาสตร์เชิงข้อมูลในประเทศไทย โดยยกระดับการใช้ข้อมูลและเทคโนโลยี เสริมทักษะนักข่าว ผลักดันนโยบายเปิดเผยข้อมูล สร้างความตระหนักรู้ให้กับผู้รับสาร หารูปแบบการนำเสนอที่หลากหลาย และให้ความสำคัญกับการผลิตผลงานเชิงสืบสวนมากขึ้น
