Thai Traditional Radio Dramatic Performance, Sena District, Phranakhon Si Ayutthaya Province: The Entertainment Leaving Only a Memory

Abstract

This article purpose to study about Thai Traditional Radio Dramatic Performance, Sena District, Phranakhon Si Ayutthaya Province by searching from common references, primary source, and secondary source, included the interviewing Thai Traditional Radio Dramatic Performance owner, Sena District, Phranakhon Si Ayutthaya Province to collect data. It was found that there were 2 Thai Traditional Radio Dramatic Performance troupe: Ruam Mit Ban Pan and Somphong Look Ban Pan. They were widely popular in 1982-1992 by using the radio broadcasting to promote and expand the customer group. Although the cost of production and media rental fee were too high but gaining popularity of like and the strength point of radio broadcasting that could reach to many people without communication problem. Therefore, many shops and stores were interested to support a lot of money for the performance with the following business conditions that like troupes have to advertise their products or shops. Afterwards like troupes changed to use the television media instead of the radio media because of the television media could reach more people. That’s why Thai Traditional Radio Dramatic Performance began to decline in popularity and some sponsors withdrew from like troupes. They got into financial problem so they went finally out of their business what left is hearsay, troupes’ signs, places, and remembrance. However, from this change showed the attempt to adapt the entertainment presentation pattern in accordance with people popularity for remaining Thai Traditional Dramatic Performance that is an importantThai national art.
