The Influence of Motivation and the Perception of Tourism Elements Affecting Satisfaction in Health Tourism of Thai Tourists in Phuket Province

Abstract

The objectives of this research were to study 1) the motivations affecting satisfaction in health tourism of Thai tourists in Phuket province and 2) the perception of tourism elements affecting satisfaction in health tourism of Thai tourists in Phuket province. The sample consisted of 420 Thai tourists arriving in Phuket province, obtained by accidental sampling. The statistics were frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and multiple regression analysis. The results showed that 1) the motivations affecting satisfaction in health tourism of Thai tourists in Phuket province, with a statistical significance level of 0.05, were push factors (Beta=.487) and pull factors (Beta=.315). The dependent variable of this prediction was 54.0 percent points. 2) The perception of tourism elements affecting satisfaction in health tourism of Thai tourists in Phuket province, with a statistical significance level of 0.05, was tourism activities (Beta=.445), accommodation (Beta=.216), accessibility (Beta=.190) and amenities (Beta=.102). The dependent variable of this prediction was 61.9 percent points.
