Development of Volunteer Graduates' Project in Improving the Quality of Life of Children and Youth at Ban Chalako Manang Dalam Subdistrict, Sai Buri District, Pattani Province

Abstract

This research paper presents the results and analysis of the role of volunteer graduates in improving the quality of life of children and youth at Ban Chalako Manang Dalam Subdistrict, Sai Buri District, Pattani Province. The sample group consisted of 1 volunteer graduate, 1 volunteer mentor, 5 children aged between 10 to 18 years old, 5 community leaders, 7 women, and 5 elderlies. As a qualitative study, group discussions, face-to-face interviews, and non-participatory observations were adopted for data collection. The results indicated that the volunteer graduates played an essential role in developing a proposition for development and designing activities with the community, such as an elderly visit by youth, sports competitions, and the establishment of youth organizations to promote voluntary activities, such as graveyard cleaning. At least 4 areas of the activities were formed, namely 1) relationship building, 2) wisdom, 3) self-development, and 4) knowledge and skills.
