Abstract

This descriptive research examined levels of organizational commitment and factors affecting the organizational commitment of instructors at the Faculty of Nursing, Ubon Ratchathani University. 28 faculty members were purposely chosen to be our sample. A survey was conducted and analyzed, using descriptive statistics such as percentage, standard deviation, and Pearson’s correlation coefficient. The results showed that 1) the instructors ’ overall organizational commitment was at a high level (=4.18, SD.=0.66 ). The highest mean was normative commitment (=4.41, SD.=0.62), affective commitment (=4.23, SD.=0.72) and continuance commitment (=3.97, SD.=0.83), respectively. 2) The significant factors affecting the instructors’ organizational commitment with positive correlations were work experiences (r=.797), job characteristics (r=.787), and organizational mechanism (r=.588) at the 0.01 significance level.
