Factors Affecting to Course of School Dropout of the Youth in Sikao District, Trang Province

Abstract
The objectives of this study were as following: 1) to study the level of quality of life, self-esteem, sense of coherence, and course of school dropout of the youth. 2) to analyze the factors Affecting to course school dropout of the youth. The data were collected from 150 youths that school dropout in Sikao district, Trang Province. Research instrument was the questionnaires; the data were analyzed by using statistical methods; including mean, standard deviation and multiple regression analysis with stepwise method. The results had concluded as following: firstly, the youths had quality of life, self-esteem, and sense of coherence at the average level, the cause of school dropout of the youths had economic dimension, family dimension, environmental and social dimension at the low level, while personal dimension and place of education dimension at the average level. Secondly, results from multiple regression analysis with stepwise method indicated that those of independent variables could predict the reasons for school dropout including marital status of the parents, manageability dimension of sense of coherence, social relationships dimension and physical dimension of quality of life, and occupation of mother had influenced on school dropout of the youth with the statistical significance level of .001, and could predict it at 20.7 percents (R2adj= .207).
