Abstract

The Study of the Knowledge of Phaya Khankhak Literature from Wat Mon Prang Version in Amphoe Laplae, Uttaradit Province. The purposes of this research were 1) to study the knowledge of local literature on Phaya Khankhak Literature from Wat Mon Prang Version in Amphoe Laplae, Uttaradit Province. 2) to analyze the moral that appear in Phaya Khankhak Literature from Wat Mon Prang Version in Amphoe Laplae, Uttaradit Province. This research was qualitative research. The researcher studied and analyzed the data from the documentary research.


            The results found that the original tradition of Amphoe Laplae, the Phaya Khankhak preaching is famous to preach to mendicant, upasakas, upasikas and buddhist in The Buddhist lent day. There are 4 days for religious ceremony. The Phaya Khankhak content was different from another sermon, such as North language that like Dharma thread, the sentence starts with Pali language and then to explain as a prose in the Lanna language, the content of preaching is teaching that teach the people to know about merit and sin, giving, observe the precepts, prosperity, To cultivate good, To avoid evil and also inserting morality and ethics.


            The moral that appear in Phaya Khankhak Literature from Wat Mon Prang Version in Amphoe Laplae, Uttaradit Province was 8 morals, to consist of 1. Diligence 2. Honesty 3. Discipline 4. Politeness 5. Body cleanliness 6. Heart Cleanliness 7. Unity and 8. Kindness
