Students' Participative Political Decisions Bansomdejchaopraya Rajabhat University

Abstract

The purposes of this research were 1) to study the level of decision-making in political participation of the Bansomdejchaopraya Rajabhat University’s students; 2) to study factors affecting the level of decision-making in political participation of the students; 3) to comparatively study the level of decision-making of the students in political participation classified by personal factors; and 4) to study the relationship between factors affecting the level of decision-making in political participation and the level of decision-making in political participation of the students. The sample group consisted of 389 students.  The instrument used for the data collection was a questionnaire. The statistics used in the data analysis were the basic statistical values and t-distribution and the F-distribution, multiple regression, and correlation statistics. The results of the study were as follows: 1) the level of decision-making in political participation of the Bansomdejchaopraya Rajabhat University’s students overall was at a high level;  2) age was the main factor affecting students' decision-making at the highest level;  3) students of different age had different levels of decision-making in political participation at a statistical significance of 0.05, while students of different gender, the year of study and different faculty had a different level of decision-making in political participation; and 4) the relationship between factors affecting the decision-making level and the level of decision-making in political participation of the students by using multiple regression statistics, it was found that their exposure to political information from the mass media, political knowledge, and political opinions had relations to the level of their decision-makings in the political participation.
