Evaluation of programs to prevent and solve drug problems Kuchinarai District Kalasin Province

Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the implementation of the Drug Prevention and Solution Project in Kuchinarai District, Kalasin Province, and to propose guidelines for its further development. A mixed-methods approach was employed. The quantitative study collected data from 200 respondents, including project officers and local residents, using a questionnaire, and analyzed the data using descriptive statistics. The qualitative study gathered information through in-depth interviews with 13 key informants from five groups: public health officers, community leaders, police officers, teachers, and residents affected by drug problems. The results revealed that:

1. 1. The overall implementation of the project was at a high level, covering all dimensions of the CIPP Model—context, input, and process, which were rated at a high level, while product was rated at the highest level.


2. 2. The project effectively reduced drug abuse behaviors and expanded successful outcomes to other areas. Development guidelines should focus on enhancing the efficiency of drug treatment and follow-up, strengthening community capacity and participation, developing youth life skills, and integrating Buddhist principles into the To Be Number One project. The findings can serve as a guideline for improving and developing drug prevention and solution projects to ensure continuity and sustainability in the future.
