Development of mathematics learning achievement on quadratic equations for Grade 9 students using STAD technique with the game

Abstract

          The objectives of this research were 1) to compare the mathematics learning achievement on quadratic equations of Grade 9 students using STAD technique with the games with a 70% criterion, 2) to compare the learning achievement in mathematics on quadratic equations before and after the learning management, and 3) to study the satisfaction of Grade 9 students towards the learning management using STAD technique with the games. The sample group was 31 students in Grade 9 in the first semester of the academic year 2022 at Bannakhupattana “Ko Ro Po klang uphathum” school. The samples were selected using cluster random sampling. The instruments include lesson plans, achievement tests, and satisfaction assessments. The statistics used in the research were percentage, mean, standard deviation, and t-test.
          The study's findings revealed that 1) mathematics learning achievement on quadratic equations for Grade 9 students using STAD technique with the games was greater than 70% at a statistically significant level of .05, 2) mathematics learning achievement is higher after using STAD technique with of the games than before using the STAD technique with the game at a statistically significant level of .05, and 3) Grade 9 students were very satisfied with their mathematics learning using STAD technique with the games.
