Abstract

The high demand for labor in Thailand causes the problem of illegal migrant workers. Illegal migrant workers are smuggled into the country by private brokers and corrupt government officers. The smuggling of illegal migrant workers occur along the Thai border through natural channels. Illegal migrant workers have caused many problems, including the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) outbreak. The causes of the new wave of COVID-19 outbreaks include illegal entry into the country without screening for the disease, crowded living and lack of good hygiene. The problem of illegal migrant workers should be cooperation between the government, private sectors and people to resolve this problem. The solution should consist of preventing illegal immigration, bringing illegal migrant workers into the legal system and the protection of health rights of migrant workers.
