A Study of Problems and Obstacles on Performance of Missing and Unidentified Persons for Civil Society of Thailand

Abstract

            This research aims to study the problems and obstacles for the missing person and unidentified body identification mission. The qualitative research with in-depth interview and focus group were conducted in this research. The result of this research shows information about the tracking of missing persons and identification of unidentified body correctly and systematically based on international standard.


          The results indicated that implementation of civil society agencies of the missing and unidentified body must be cautiously prepared. The guideline for coordination and sharing information with other agencies effectively. Since there are many problems in Thailand about managing of the missing person and unidentified body for a long time. There is no system of coordination between related agencies for tracking the missing persons and returning them. The protocol must be readily prepared for relevant agencies to operate with the same direction. Additionally, there should be a policy for prevention, management and resolving the problems. the training workshop to civil society agencies involving the missing persons and the unidentified persons should be held regularly.
