Sexual crimes are a serious matter, and has a strong negative effect on Thai society. Sexual offenses are considered wrong both legally and morally, affecting physical and mental conditions of victims and their families. The findings in this study from 21 participants who were prisoners accused of rape indicated factors relating to the emergence of sexual offenses as the following: 1) internal factors of sexual offenders; 2) causes of sexual offenses; and 3) characteristics of risky environment for sexual offenses. Each of the factors was interrelated in terms of processes and goals, such as the protection of sexual victimization.
