สถานการณ์และวิธีการฆ่าตัวตายที่สัมพันธ์กับเพศ-ช่วงอายุ-ภูมิภาคในประเทศไทยปี พ.ศ. 2555-2559

บทคัดย่อ
การวิจัยนี้ศึกษาอัตราการฆ่าตัวตายในช่วงปี พ.ศ. 2555-2559 ในระดับภูมิภาค โดยนำข้อมูลการฆ่าตัวตายของประชากรในประเทศไทย (20,234 ราย) มาวิเคราะห์อัตราการฆ่าตัวตายต่อประชากรแสนคนแยกตามเพศ ช่วงอายุและวัย และร้อยละของวิธีการฆ่าตัวตายในภูมิภาค ศึกษาความสัมพันธ์ของวิธีการฆ่าตัวตายกับเพศ ช่วงวัย และภูมิภาคด้วยวิธี Chi-squared test รวมถึงการสัมภาษณ์ตัวแทนจิตแพทย์ พบว่าปีที่มีอัตราการฆ่าตัวตายมากที่สุดคือปี 2558 (6.47 ต่อประชากรแสนคน) และน้อยที่สุด คือปี 2557 (6.08) เพศชายมีอัตราการฆ่าตัวตายสูงกว่าเพศหญิงในทุกปี 3.39-4.15 เท่า วัยผู้ใหญ่และผู้สูงอายุ (30-89 ปี) มีอัตราการฆ่าตัวตายของช่วงอายุและวัยนั้นมากกว่า 6.30 ภาคเหนือมีอัตราการฆ่าตัวตายมากที่สุดในแต่ละปี ภาคตะวันออกเฉียงเหนือและภาคกลางมีแนวโน้มเพิ่มขึ้น ขณะที่ภาคใต้มีแนวโน้มลดลง วิธีการแขวนคอ รัดคอ และทำให้หายใจไม่ออกเป็นวิธีที่ถูกเลือกใช้มากที่สุด รองลงมาคือการใช้พิษจากยาฆ่าศัตรูพืชและสัตว์ การใช้สารพิษจากสารเคมีและสารพิษอื่น ๆ และการใช้กระสุนปืน โดยวิธีที่ใช้มีความแตกต่างกันในภูมิภาค เพศ และช่วงวัย (p < 0.001) จิตแพทย์ส่วนใหญ่มีความเห็นว่าจำนวนคนฆ่าตัวตายมีแนวโน้มเพิ่มขึ้น โดยแนวทางการแก้ไขปัญหาคือการสร้างภูมิคุ้มกันทางความคิดในวัยเด็ก การสร้างความสัมพันธ์ในครอบครัวและชุมชน และการควบคุมอุปกรณ์การฆ่าตัวตาย รวมถึงการมีระบบสาธารณสุขที่ดี ดังนั้นการศึกษาและวิเคราะห์เชิงลึกในแต่ละด้านจึงจำเป็นเพื่อเป็นพื้นฐานในการดำเนินการของหน่วยงานรัฐที่เกี่ยวข้องให้มีประสิทธิผลยิ่งขึ้น
